I realize sometimes that I am very fortunate to have a great relationship with my Postal Workers. You see, Chris helped me to get my Mailer’s Postmark Permit, which for some was quite an ordeal. I had mine in less than a month. I look forward to seeing Dorleen who always has a smile on her face and really likes my mailer’s postmark. There are the various other clerks who are willing to greet me and fulfill my odd ball requests. (When was the last time you purchased 10c stamps?).
A colorful card containing artwork from Netherlands. Those Dutch have the coolest cards.
This is a picture of a oyster shell house. It is beautiful…but not very common these days, so the postcrossing sender says.
Ooo, another Finnish postcard. This one relates to the Finnish culture.
I thought this was interesting…apparently Royal Mail had a train system to deliver mail.
You can find out about the rail system over at Letter Writers Alliance. More information is at Silent UK.
There is nothing like going into the post office and picking up ones mail. What is even better is when everyone is always friendly and willing to have you leave satisfied. However, what I love best is that when I go to my post office (60544) they know who I am and always greet me with a smile. No wonder this post office is one of the best…
Now, only if they were a Philatelic center…
I ordered my Mailer’s Postmark from Bill Porter over at the Olathe Poste. Here is a sample of one of the Mailer’s Postmark Cancels he uses.
I am so excited. Last Thursday I received word from the Plainfield Post Office that my Mailer’s Postmark Permit Application has been approved! Even better is that I have received permit #1!!! So I ordered a new stamp from William Porter over at the Olathe Post which should come this week to finalize my permit… I’ll post it when it arrives. Anyway, that also means that I’m going to have a day of first use. Let me know if you’d like a postcard or something!!!
