I waited with great anticipation last Sunday for Pastor Juhl’s announcement on whether he is accepting the call to Our Savior in Momence. The announcement came, I was excited and said “I have to welcome him to the district” and promptly got busy with work and never welcomed Pastor Juhl.
So, here it is – Welcome to the Northern Illinois District.
I really like Father Fisk’s post on his blog…

Since Blogger won’t let me sign in I have to post this on my blog and hope the comment is read. I hate blogger – come on folks – get a real system. One that supports trackbacks/pings, etc.!

Well, I finally got around to listening to Pastor Fisk’s sermon from last week. Oops. His theology is good, but umm.. his facts are, well, a little off. So, I being the perfectionist that I am, am going to micromanage.
I guess that Pastor Fisk wasn’t up on the latest technology. In November of 1995, I had a brand new, Hewlett Packard Pentium 75 that, well wasn’t the best on the market (I remember they had 133′s since my buddy at Best Buy had one!). It was in 1996 I threw that piece of junk away and acquired a Pentium MMX 200 from Sony. It served me well until in 2001 when it was, well retired.

This, apparently, is going to be a difficult week. My Pastor friends have yet to post their audio sermons, what am I to do this week?
If it’s printed, I most likely will not read it. If it’s on audio, I listen to it on my way to work. Go figure. Anyone know of good sermons streaming in audio?

Bob Waters has posted an excellent article about Reformation Day. I found it quite interesting, though I usually despise long posts, I read this one through.
I am honored that Pastor McCain has left a comment on my blog regarding my previous comments on Fr. Fenton. I have to agree with Pastor McCain, though I may not have been as clear as I could have. I have never met Fr. Fenton, though I admired his love for the Liturgy and learned a lot from his writings. However, I can not condone his actions. I hope and pray that no-one leaves the one-true faith whether going east or going to nowhere. Those who admire and are close to Father Fenton are those who most likely will do this, those who are watching what this man is doing. Right or wrong, it is what is happening.
Anyone who has abandoned the Lutheran Confessions has left the Orthodox Faith. I repeat, Fr. Fenton is no longer in the one true faith. Lutheranism, true Lutheranism, is the only Christian church that is based on Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, and Grace Alone. It is the only Christian church that has stayed true to the Word of God, unto death. The fact that Fr. Fenton abandoned the true faith to go east, has abandoned his ordination vows, is, to me, turning his back on God. Let me point out what the Ordination Vows are:
On Theologically-Incorrect from the Rev. Richard Cody. Saw this and thought – hey I’ve had advice of this sort from an LCMS pastor once upon a time. Didn’t realize that he was as liberal as a NOW & PETA member!! I find it sad reprehensible and an abomination that any Pastor would call themselves such when they run around with their head misaligned somewhere but where it belongs.

Pasor Chryst has an interesting post on his blog about the Anti-Christ and Politics! It is sad that someone doesn’t know the teachings of the church… But then again…
I love catholics too. We’re all going to heaven!
It’s just that I am talking about catholics as in members of the catholic, orthodox church, the one true church. And the best expression of which is the church described by the Lutheran Confessions. Is that the LCMS? WELS? CLC? ELC? We’ll of course not, it is the invisible church! And yes, it is present in non-Lutheran church bodies (though I wonder why it is present in non-Lutheran church bodies since those people should be Lutheran!)
Pastor Cholak made an excellent post on his blog today about how you should either be Lutheran or if your not going to be Lutheran, you should leave. How nice would that be if all shepherds that did not hold our confession left our church…? However, that is the easy way out. I certainly hope that those who are in error would see the way of their errors, repent, and preach His Word and administer His sacraments.
Pastor McCain had a blog posting in response to Fr. Fenton’s going east. I liked the Jello analogy. Another post is on Pastor Gregory Alms blog.
